The 'baobhan sith'; pronounced baa'-van shee, stanis a vampire in Celtic/Scottish folklore, similar to the Manx Leanan Sídhe or Irish Banshee.
They are also often referred to as the White Women of the Scottish Highlands....
Baobhan sith is a demonic vampire who appears to men, sometimes sleeping men, taking the form of a beautiful woman in order to seduce them and drink their blood....
Once a year she arises from her grave to feed on young men by night in forests or other natural places away from society.
They operate in groups, together seducing victims with their beauty, inviting the men to dance with them and eventually drinking their blood....
These beings lure weary travelers and when you are close they attack.
Weaknesses: Iron might be the only thing that will be effective against Baobhan sith.
Some folk-tales explain that they fear sunlight but it does not say as to why or the effects the sun has on them...
